On 20th April, Citizen of the Earth, Taiwan (台灣地球公民基金會), Taiwan Environmental Information Association (TEIA (台灣環境資訊協會)) and various other supporting groups marched through the streets of Taipei to the Presidential Office on Ketagalan Boulevard in order to oppose a series of inappropriate development plans in eastern Taiwan - particularly the 7th Miramar Resort Village (美麗灣渡假村) Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), which is seen by many as grossly unacceptable. The joint demonstration and music concert, which was raised under the banner “Don’t say goodbye to the eastern coastline,” attracted close to three thousand people from around the country.
A group of twenty protestors from Shanyuan Beach (杉原沙灘) who undertook a grueling twenty-day march to arrive in Taipei on the 20th, were met with a large crowd of supporters that had already gathered. Proudly carrying a traditional Amis bamboo raft on their shoulders, the march to Ketagalan Boulevard was headed by a group of twenty Amis tribesmen. At the music concert, which got under way at 4pm, 32 members of the Amis tribe took to the stage, dedicating tribal offerings and chants in protest of the east coast development; the music concert lasted an incredible eight hours, finishing at 3:45am.
To express her worry and anxiety towards the current crisis facing the east coast, Jolan Hsieh (謝若蘭), Associate Professor from the Department of Ethnic Relations and Cultures at National Dong Hwa University (東華大學副教授) in Taiwan, shaved her hair. “My hair will quickly grow back, but once our land vanishes beneath concrete, it will be lost forever,” said Jolan Hsieh – her hair will be used to make wigs for cancer patients.

三千人上凱道 不要告別東海岸
為了反對東部一連串不當的開發計劃，特別是美麗灣渡假村第七次環評不公等事件，台灣地球公民基金會和台灣環境資訊協會及聲援的藝文團體，4月20日在凱道舉辦〝不要告別東海岸〞大遊行及音樂會，估計各地前來聲援民眾接近三千人。從4月4日開始從台東杉原海灣出發的反反反美麗灣行動聯盟多位成員及群眾，在歷經了長達17天的徒步苦行後，4/20日在台北頂好市場和支持群眾會合，在二十位扛著傳統竹筏的阿美族勇士的帶領下，聲勢浩大的往凱達格蘭大道前進。
「不要告別東海岸」音樂晚會下午四點在總統府前凱達格蘭大道舉行，共有32組人員登台獻唱，以實際行動反對東海岸不當開發，音樂會一直持續進行到凌晨3點45分才結束了這場長達八小時的破天荒演出。東華大學副教授謝若蘭更當眾剪去披肩長髮，以＂無髮（法）＂的行動諷刺政府在東海岸各地的＂無法＂無天，表達了她對東海岸面臨全面開發危機的憂心與憤怒。謝若蘭表示：「頭髮剃了，很快就會再長回來，但土地失去了、被灌上了水泥，就回不來了！」她的頭髮將捐贈給癌友，供製作假髮之用。
