Epidemic triggers online running trend

The spread of COVID-19 has led to the cancellation of large group activities, especially large running events, leaving a whole lot of disgruntled runners; however, as we all know, amid every crisis lies great opportunity. Thanks to a new run-tracking app, online running has become Taiwan’s latest sporting trend.

Under the slogan, “With the arrival of spring, myriad colorful flowers burst into bloom”, the Chinese Taipei Triathlon Association (CTTA) organized the 2020 Good Season Online Road Race, allowing runners to accumulate road miles after registering online. Via this novel mobile phone app, the distance, run duration, route, map, and even pace are recorded in real-time

Thanks to cloud technology, different approaches and methods are being utilized to hold events in the face of the epidemic, fully demonstrating Taiwan's formidable power in the digital age.

新冠肺炎蔓延，導致人潮群聚的活動，尤其是大型路跑紛紛取消，讓喜歡參加比賽的路跑族哀鴻遍野。不過危機就是轉機，這也讓主打不限地點的線上路跑順勢而起，成為現今最夯的路跑運動。

主打春光明媚、百花齊放，由三鐵運動協會舉辦的「2020跑步好時節線上路跑」，只要在網路上報名後，就可以開始累積路跑里程。透過專屬的手機APP，記錄下跑步期間的距離、時間，甚至路線、地圖、配速，都能記錄的一次到位。

由於雲端科技，讓許多活動面對疫情下都能以不同型態、不同方式舉辦，充分展現了台灣在數位時代的軟實力。
