Pingxi's elderly farmers enjoy the rich bounty of honey

In recent years, population aging has become a serious problem in Pingxi, and many elderly in the area are struggling to cope with a loss of purpose in life. To address the situation, Green Mountain Green Water Cooperative proposed "Beekeeping to Help Farmers," an initiative that encourages elderly people to start beekeeping and use the income from honey to improve their lives.

In the past, Pingxi's remote location made it difficult to buy cane sugar, so residents would raise wild bees to harvest honey. However, as sugar became easier to obtain, beekeepers gradually decreased. Fortunately, the emergence of Green Mountain Green Water Cooperative is helping to enrich elderly farmers' lives, giving them companionship and renewed purpose.

平溪過去因為地處偏僻，居民不容易購買到蔗糖，因此大家都會自己飼養野蜂來採收蜂蜜，但隨著糖越來越容易取得後，養蜂的人數越來越少。所幸合作社的出現，讓老農在生活中有人伴隨左右，從養蜂重獲生活重心，也用蜂蜜豐富了生活
