Urban beekeeping and ecological sustainability

文字-A A +A

Teacher Tsai Ying-hui (蔡明憲) from Songshan Community College said: Most people think bees are limited to living in the countryside as if people are the only ones who can survive in the city. However, bees, like butterflies and ants, once lived alongside us – it’s just that we have destroyed the ecology. It makes sense to take the time to get to know all the creatures living around us, and urban beekeeping is a great way to do this.

Through hands-on beekeeping experience and honey collection, people begin to understand the ecological value of bees and learn how to be friendly to the environment. By preserving more green space and reducing the destruction of native vegetation, bees will naturally return to us. A harmonious relationship between humans and bees is essential to safeguard our ecology and achieve a sustainable future.
