Eco Disaster in Taiwan Indigenous Villages VS Corporate Greed DaChan Greatwall Group(大成企業集團) is constructing a pig farm which locates at the boundary of Sinpi Township(新埤鄉) and Laiyi Township(來義鄉), Pintung County, Taiwan. In order to protect the ecological environment and to prevent from water pollution etc., residents from both townships hung white cloth in front of the construction in protest. However, the negotiations between DaChan Greatwall Group and the locals failed to reach agreements. The residents then volunteered to gather together and set up a self-help group(自救會). On November 13, the self-help group blocked the road and tries to restrain the construction; which has made DaChan Greatwall Group solve the issue in court.
