Citizen journalists continue reporting during the pandemic
During the recent COVID-19 Level 3 alert, many people went out less and worked from home, while most events were canceled. Despite this, citizen journalists have used novel ways to continue uploading reports onto the PeoPo Citizen Journalism Platform. Some took pictures of epidemic-related issues nearby, such as vaccinations and epidemic prevention regulations in various counties and cities, while others used video interviews to overcome distance limitations.
During the pandemic, video conferencing has been used by many people for meetings and teaching. Several citizen journalists have also adopted this method to continue conducting face-to-face interviews while confined at home. Despite the severe disruption that Covid-19 has had on our daily lives, dedicated citizen journalists continue to cover important stories in the nooks and crannies of society. Thanks to their continued sharing, we are seeing different ways to conduct interviews and opening many new possibilities in citizen journalism.
