PeoPo Citizen Journalism Awards – Sharing feelings and glory

On December 21st, PeoPo Citizen Journalism Platform held the 8th Citizen Journalism Awards. With 116 entries in the “Special Report” section and 122 entries in the “Short Report” section, it is clear that reporting coverage is increasingly extensive and viewpoints ever more in-depth. Finalists at the event were made up of a diverse range of people from all walks of life, including college students, and even 75-year-old grandmother Zhang Hui-mei and her granddaughter Cai Yi-ci, both of whom had separate entries. 

An award winner at this year’s ceremony, 75-year-old citizen journalist Zhang Hui-mei won recognition at the event for recording the story of her life in “Taro with Yam – Happiness from Sweet Wine”. It is Zhang Hui-mei’s incredible passion for journalism that influenced her granddaughter to also get involved in citizen journalism. In addition, a series of reports over the last four years by citizen journalist Hong Chun-jing (洪春景), titled “Those Crazy Years in Chishang - Takeshi Kaneshiro Tree”, has been an award winner at the event for the last four consecutive years.  

Over and above selecting 5 award winners from each of the entry sections – “Special Report” section and “Short Report” section – the jury selected a further 5 entries for a special award to further encourage the spirit of citizen journalism. Moreover, PeoPo Citizen Journalism Platform awarded certificates of appreciation to the civic organization Frontier Foundation, citizen journalists Oliver101 and Chchen45, and teacher A-Zhe, thanking them for all their long-term support and hard work in propagating citizen journalism.

公民新聞獎頒獎 分享感動與榮耀

PeoPo公民新聞平台於12月21日舉辦第八屆「公民新聞獎」頒獎典禮，今年「新聞專題組」共有116件報名作品、「短片報導組」共有122件，報導層面越來越廣泛，呈現觀點也愈來愈深入。入圍者從大專院校學生到社會人士都有，入圍者中，更有75歲的公民記者張惠美與孫女蔡依慈，分別以不同作品入圍。

75歲的公民記者張惠美同時也是今年「新聞專題組」得獎者，她用相機紀錄報導自己的人生故事「芋頭配番薯 甜酒釀幸福」獲得評審肯定而得獎，她對新聞的熱情，也影響了外孫女蔡依慈共同加入。另外，新聞專題組公民記者洪春景，更以耗費4年時間紀錄「那些年我們一起瘋的池上 金城武樹」的報導，四連霸獲得肯定。

除了在「新聞專題組」與「短片報導組」各選出5位得獎者之外，評審團另外選出5名特別獎，鼓勵公民記者紀錄報導的精神；而PeoPo平台也特別頒發感謝獎鼓勵一起耕耘公民新聞的社團夥伴「開拓文教基金會」與公民記者oliver101、公民記者chchen45、公民記者阿哲老師，感謝長期以來他們對公民新聞的支持與耕耘。
