PeoPo’s Hualien “Your Shoot” focuses on caring for the elderly

With a growing aging population, care of the elderly has become a major issue. This year’s 4th PeoPo Citizen Journalism Platform “Your Shoot” event was held at the Mennonite Social Welfare Foundation’s Qingfeng Daycare Center in Ji’an, Hualien. Close to 30 citizen journalists participated in the event, recording all the happenings of the day. The daycare center provides a combination of medical and community care, delivering a friendly and caring environment for the elderly and vulnerable members of society. 

Mennonite Social Welfare Foundation’s Qingfeng Daycare Center is a unique daycare center, providing supervision from the foundation’s nurses and social workers, while at the same time integrating manpower and resources from the local community. Incorporating both medical treatment and community care together under one roof has provided a much-needed friendly and caring environment for elderly and vulnerable members of the community.

PeoPo花蓮踹拍 關心長輩照護

高齡化社會來臨，長者照顧成為重要課題，PeoPo公民新聞平台今年第四場的踹拍活動來到花蓮吉安門諾基金會的日托中心-慶豐日托站，帶領近30位公民記者用鏡頭記錄，日托中心透過醫療跟社區的共同合作，為社區的長輩還有弱勢者，營造一個友善的照顧環境。

門諾的『慶豐日托站』，是基金會極富特色的日托中心，連結了『門諾基金會』的專業護理及社工督導員的輔導、更融入了在地社區的人力與物力資源，透過醫療與社區的共照模式，一起為社區長者、弱勢者建構友善的照顧場域。
