Typhoon Soudelor – Related citizen journalist reports

The assault of Typhoon Soudelor brought wind speeds of 58 meters per second and level 17 gusts, causing the worst power cuts in Taiwan’s history. A stream of on-the-spot reports from citizen journalists in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Pingtung, as well as various other areas around the country, brought the full severity of this calamity to light. According to reports, 4000 trees were toppled on Taipei’s sidewalks, resulting in damage to countless vehicles. Agriculture losses in southern and central regions were also very serious.
