New immigrants learn about Taiwanese culture in home literacy course

Kaohsiung Qianjin Family Service Center for New Immigrants (高雄市前金新移民家庭服務中心) provides a “home literacy” service that sends teachers into the homes of students to teach. The service is provided by a group of enthusiastic volunteer lecturers and social workers, who teach new immigrant women to read and write Chinese, as well as the customs and culture of Taiwan.
