Overpass market

Huajiang House (華江整宅) is located at the intersection of Huanhe South Road and Heping West Road in Taipei’s Wanhua District. Designed by six renowned architects in the 1970s, the building was an esteemed residential community in its day. The building’s ground-floor ceiling is raised to provide storefronts and its second floor has a connecting corridor. Unfortunately, Taipei’s business district has shifted location over the last few decades and the area has witnessed a gradual decline. Recently, local resident and cultural worker Gao Chuan-qi (高傳棋), called on the community college and local organizations to jointly raise an overpass market on the second-floor corridor. Held on July 31, in addition to food and drink the market had many other stalls incorporating features of the local community. It is hoped that the event will provide local residents and visitors with a better understanding of the area’s unique history.

天橋上的市集

位於台北市萬華區環河南路與和平西路口，有一座建築物「華江整宅」，在1970年代由六位知名建築師所設計，當時是非常有名的社區住宅。此建築一樓挑高為店面，二樓以上設計有通廊；但這幾十年來，因為商圈轉移，此地逐漸沒落。在地居民，也是文史工作者高傳棋，於7月31日號召社區大學與附近的團體，在華江整宅二樓的通廊，舉辦一場天橋上的市集，市集除了吃吃喝喝外，還有許多結合在地特色的攤位，希望讓更多外地民眾與在地居民了解此地歷史。
