PeoPo’s Tainan Your Shoot: A visit to Xinguang Community 

The final PeoPo Citizen Journalism Platform’s Your Shoot event of 2016 was held in Xinguang Community, which is located in Tainan’s Guanmiao District. Formerly transformed into a red-hot tourist spot because of its flamboyant wall murals, Xinguang ignited a wall-mural craze that spread to communities all over the country. Later, the community revived its own traditional wickerwork culture, reinvigorating local residents with vitality and jointly creating a better future for the community.

Scores of citizen journalists were attracted to participate in the event and capture the spirit of Xinguang through the lens. Local residents gave a guided tour of Xinguang and provided a comprehensive understanding of the community’s joys and sorrows. Hopefully, through sharing these precious images, many more people will be moved to show a greater interest in communities all over Taiwan.

PeoPO台南踹拍 探訪新光社區

PeoPo公民新聞平台，今年最後一場的踹拍活動，在台南關廟的新光社區舉辦，帶領公民記者探訪這個，曾經以彩繪牆壁風光一時的新光社區，帶起了全台灣彩繪社區的風潮，後來又找回社區獨特的竹編文化，重新匯集社區居民的活力，共同營造社區的美好未來。

而本場活動同樣也有數十位公民記者共襄盛舉，公民記者一起用鏡頭走訪新光社區，在社區人士的導覽下，深入了解社區營造的甘苦與辛酸，把這些珍貴的畫面製作成公民新聞，希望更多人一起關心台灣各地的社區故事。
