Elderly enjoy a day visit to Kaohsiung

On December 2, volunteers and social workers from Chiayi Compassion House (博愛仁愛之家) accompanied the residents of two nursing homes south for a tour of Kaohsiung Harbor. Visiting the local scenic spots, riding on Kaohsiung’s Circular Line, and partaking in a little shopping, left all of the elderly participants visibly thrilled. Devoted to caring for the safety of these elderly people, the volunteers and social workers showed professionalism and love while helping them on and off buses, boats, and trains. Thanks to the careful planning of social workers at Chiayi Compassion House, 13 volunteers and 7 social workers managed to take care of 19 elderly people, ensuring that they each had a volunteer or social worker to help them feel comfortable and safe.

嘉義博愛仁愛之家的志工及社工，於12月2日陪伴安養中心和養護中心的長者，搭遊覽車南下遊高雄港，志工、社工們陪著阿公阿嬤在各處景點散步休閒，並體驗高雄輕軌、逛購物中心及採購等等，留下歡欣的聲音與足跡。因為長者們行動不便，在上下車、船或參觀路上志工及社工們，都倍加用心呵護長者們的歡心和安全。在嘉義博愛仁愛之家社工們的細心規劃下，19名長者，有志工13名及社工7名服務，每一名長者都有一名志工或社工陪伴，使長者們倍感溫馨與安全。
