Films portraying real people
‘Aspiration’, the latest film produced through Tainan Community College’s ‘Start Filmmaking Club’ is now screening. This is the latest socially oriented film to be released by the club, which releases a new film each semester. Filmed by ordinary people passionate about film and without the usual star-studded acting lineup, the films are a world apart from the usual commercial productions. ‘Aspiration’ is a story of blood, sweat, and tears inside the care industry, where in her incredibly busy nursing career, protagonist Enlin sacrifices her life, family, and even love. In order to fully capture the nursing life, the film’s production team filmed extensively on-site and engaged in dialogue with nurses. The director said he hopes to provide audiences with some insight into this sad and too often overlooked issue.
