Recycling with heart – Yonghe’s Xiulang Village

In recent years, there has been a gradual rise in environmental awareness, and from the community to individual families, recycling classification has gained a lot of traction. Every other Saturday in Yonghe’s Xiulang District, locals gather at the Chief of Village’s home to recycle household items.

Each time locals come to recycle items, they accrue points that can eventually be exchanged for eco-friendly products like garbage bags, laundry detergents, and dishwashing detergent. What's more, all of the products are certified by New Taipei City Government to ensure that locals can use them with peace of mind. Seemingly tiny forces accumulated over time have the power to produce extraordinary results. By personally taking the first step, we can help to protect the environment, our cherished homeland, and the earth.

近年來，環保意識逐漸抬頭，不論是在社區或是住家也都越來越重視資源回收的分類。在新北市永和區的秀郎里，里民們每個月的隔周六都會聚集在里長家一起做資源回收，為了讓里民可以節省一些日用品的開銷，里長也會讓里民透過回收物秤重的方式來集點數以換取一些日用品。

透過一次次累積做資收所秤得的重量點數，里民們可以兌換到環保垃圾袋、環保標章洗衣精或洗碗精等等，這些日用品都是由新北市政府所認證的環保商品，讓里民也能用得安心。看似微小的力量經過日積月累，也能有不凡的成效，保護環境，愛護地球，也愛護我們的家園，就從你我開始做起。
