A stroll through Yongle Market – Experiencing the historic flow of change

Located on Dihua Street in the city's bustling tourist area of Dadaocheng, Yongle Market stands surrounded by red brick buildings infused with the nostalgic charm of the Japanese era. The automatic door opens on the 2nd floor to reveal a dazzling display of cloth, which seems to beckon one in to buy. Sauntering through floor upon floor of colorful fabric dazzles the eyes, each inch of cloth exhibiting its own unique brilliance. The stories and historical changes contained within the fabric sit waiting to be discovered by avid shoppers.

In Taiwan, due to the enormous challenges that transformation poses for traditional industries, textile stores and sunset industries alike continue to quietly work away; however, perhaps for this very reason, traditional industries will slowly find a niche in this new era to walk forward with us together.

四處圍繞著紅磚瓦的建築，瀰漫著一股日治時期的懷舊氣味，這裡是台北市大稻埕著名的迪化街，「永樂布業商行」就座落在這個人潮熙來攘往的觀光勝地。自動門開啟，二樓陳列的各式布匹即映入眼簾，彷彿歡迎選布人的蒞臨，穿越層層布料，眼前一片五彩斑斕，每寸布匹背後都有它的精彩，這布匹的國度所蘊含的歷史變遷與故事都等待著人們的發掘。

在台灣不只是布行，還有許多夕陽產業在默默努力著，或許轉型使這些傳統產業接受更多艱難的挑戰，但也因為如此，改變後的傳統產業才會以各種不同新的風貌跟著時代與我們一起走下去。
