All-female troupe takes to the stage to perform enchanting fire dance

In the darkness, everyone gasped as the music rang out and the fire sticks illuminated the dancers absorbed expressions. Fire dance originated from tribal warriors in the South Pacific Islands. In 2018, Taiwan’s first all-female fire dance troupe Gaiasfire was formed.

Unlike the widespread fierce and energetic dances of male performers, women dancers exhibit elegant and beautiful postures, delicate emotions, and innovative arrangements combining different dance styles, providing a feminine touch that connects with the hearts of people.

Aside from the sense of danger that fire dance creates, it can also be transformed into an inspiring and tender force. Through the feminine emotional medium, people are realizing that fire can be presented in myriad incredibly dazzling ways.

黑暗中所有人屏息著，隨著音樂響起，一顆顆迸出的火光照亮每個真摯的臉龐。火舞最早源自南太平洋群島以火棍表演的勇士舞，而這支於2018年創立的彤之燁火舞集，是台灣第一且唯一的純女子火舞團。

不同於普遍男性表演者的勇猛剛健，女性優美的姿態、細膩的情感流露，加上融合不同舞風創新編曲，使火舞更加柔美且觸動人心。

火舞不是只有危險而已，它甚至可以去轉化成一種很激勵人心的、很溫暖的力量，然後透過一個女性的情感媒介，讓大家去看到火焰不是只有一種樣子，火焰可以有很多燦爛的樣子。
