Taking a nostalgic walk into the Hakka flavor

Children happily blowing bubbles with smiling moms and dads snapping photos to record the moment. Not far away, a family is operating a traditional foot-powered waterwheel, and a little boy joyfully uses a hand pump while playing with a doll - this is Hukou Hakka Creative Park. The bustling crowds enjoy the children's retro toys in the street and the Hakka style layout, which is helping to acquaint the general public with the traditional Hakka flavor.

Hukou Hakka Creative Park includes traditional Hakka scenes, decorated archways where people ate in the past, tasty nostalgic dishes, traditional Hakka marriage culture, an exhibition of traditional children's toys, introductions to the area’s history, et cetera. It is hoped that Hukou Old Street will help generate more vitality in the area and revive the former prosperity of Hukou commercial district during the period of the famous Liu Ming-chuan.
