Eco Farmer

In Tashu Township Kaohsiung County, farmer Zhang Yong Cheng is working with nature to farm his land.  He emphasizes the harmony of man and nature, so when the rain comes he simply allows the weeds to grow and then composts them, and when he spots a snake he doesn’t get flustered, simply allows them to slither away quietly. Zhang Yong Cheng carefully cherishes each and every part of his land, abstains from using chemicals and instead of  ‘killing’ bugs gently brushes them off and puts them in one ‘bug camp’, hoping that in the future they will be ‘moved’ by his love. Zhang Yong Cheng holds firm to his philosophy for everything to be as natural as possible, even plastic bags are a rare sight around his land.

新款農夫--張永成 (by 高雄公民記者 酷酷嫂(cucusau)

在高雄縣大樹鄉，有一位農夫張永成，在自家田園實踐「順天耕作法」。他強調自然和平相處，「雨來了，草長了，草，就當肥料。看到蛇，不理牠就好。」張永成細心呵護每一棵植物，完全不用農藥，連「殺」的概念都沒有，如果碰到菜蟲，他就用手輕輕「請」下他們，並將他們「集中管理」，他認為菜蟲們會被他的真情感動，會乖乖聽話的。張永成希望一切儘量天然，連塑膠袋都少用，這是他堅持的理念。
