Hakka youth return home to topple local impressions through creativity

When it comes to Taoyuan people's impressions of their hometown, most mention Taoyuan Aerotropolis, Daxi tofu, and Lala Mountain in Fuxing Township, etc.; however, few know much about Guanyin District, which could be called the Achilles' heel of local planning development. Bogongxia Community Development Association was established by a group of young people who returned to their hometown with a vision of promoting traditional Hakka culture from the perspective of young people and creating a stage for Hakka youth to return home.

The name Bogongxia, means "near the Earth God temple," which is commonly thought of as a place where the elderly gather. This group of youngsters named their association this somewhat contradictory image to catch people's attention and help topple local impressions.

伯公下返鄉 用創意顛覆印象

談起桃園人對家鄉的印象，多半提到航空城、大溪豆乾與復興鄉拉拉山等等，鮮少人對於觀音有更深入的認識，這可說是地方發展的致命傷。伯公下在地文化發展協會就是由桃園市觀音區地方青年組成，這群人懷抱理想回到家鄉，用年輕人的視角宣傳客家傳統文化，創造適合青年洄游的舞台。

「伯公下」顧名思義是客家語土地公廟附近的意思，普遍民眾認為土地公廟應該是長者聚集的場所，因此這個名稱常被人誤以為是宗教信仰的團體或長者凝聚情誼的協會，這群年輕人用形象上的反差，顛覆所有人的印象。
