The symbiotic relationship between bamboo shoots and tree frogs in Dalin

Dalin in Chiayi is one of the primary producers of bamboo shoots in Taiwan, growing vast quantities each year. These bamboo shoots are also crucial to the local ecology and the main habitat of the farmland green treefrog (Zhangixalus arvalis), which is endemic to Taiwan. Various sectors have cooperated with farmers to launch eco-tours and frog-friendly product labels that promote Dalin bamboo shoots and conserve the farmland green treefrog.

The University Social Responsibility (USR) project of Nanhua University cooperates with local farmers to organize eco-tours that help bring farmers closer to the public and is making significant progress in protecting the farmland green treefrog. The promotion of ecological agriculture is not only the responsibility of the government or farmers but also of the general public, who, by supporting these eco-friendly farmers, can help maintain their eco-friendly farming methods.

大林竹筍樹蛙 共生取平衡

嘉義大林為竹筍產地之一，每年都生產許多竹筍，這些竹筍對生態有著一定的重要性，這些竹林為台灣特有種諸羅樹蛙的主要棲息地，為了保育這些諸羅樹蛙，各界也與農民合作，推出生態旅遊及標章，推廣大林在地的竹筍，也保育諸羅樹蛙。

南華大學社會責任計畫也與在地農民合作，舉辦生態旅遊，拉近農民跟民眾的距離，在諸羅樹蛙的保育上盡一份心力。推動生態農業不只是政府或農民的責任，民眾也可以以自己的方式支持這些友善生態環境的農民們，讓這些生態農業可以維持下去。
