Forest park maintenance and ecological aesthetic awareness
Wenshan Forest Park in Taipei City harmoniously blends natural ecology, forest trails, and cultural history, providing a tranquil retreat for residents. However, maintaining the park’s ecological balance and ensuring safe trails is no easy task. It requires not only technical expertise but also the tireless dedication of volunteers who regularly patrol and maintain the park.
In collaboration with Taiwan Thousand Miles Trail Association (TMI Trail), Wenshan Community University has introduced volunteer training programs. These programs teach volunteers how to monitor and address ecological issues within the park. Thanks to the ongoing efforts of these volunteers, Wenshan Forest Park has become a model for sustainable trail maintenance. The park also seeks to change public perceptions of ecological aesthetics, fostering a deeper appreciation for a balanced and thriving landscape.
