11 Penghu schools participate in promoting parasol spinning
At Taiwanese temples or when Chinese gods are being paraded, one may witness the fascinating sight of people spinning parasols in their hands. This is an important part of traditional Chinese culture and something that Penghu County plan to vigorously promote. The county applied to the National Culture and Arts Foundation for funding, and now has 11 classes from kindergarten to university all actively studying. Students have already been engaged in study for several months and sincerely hope that this beautiful traditional art can be saved from fading into obscurity, and become a special characteristic of Penghu.
