Free Tibet! Tibetan people want to go home!

On the afternoon of March 5, a procession was held in Taipei City to commemorate the 58th Anniversary of ‘Tibetan Uprising Day. The iconic snow lions of the Tibetan flag could be seen fluttering in the breeze, punctuated by the strong and defiant cries of Tibetan people boldly announcing their wish to return home.  

On March 10, 1959, resistance demonstrations involving tens of thousands of Tibetans on the streets of Lhasa were met with brutal repression from the Chinese government. The 10th of March 2017 marks the 58th anniversary of that uprising, the 14th such commemorative procession to take place in Taiwan. In addition to the many Tibetans living in Taiwan, as well as the countless Taiwanese people who came to stand in solidarity, several legislators also came to support the cause. It is hoped that this annual procession coupled with various forms of publicity will help to arouse concern and support for Tibetan issues.

3月5日下午在台北市有一場「310西藏抗暴58周年紀念遊行」盛大展開，現場可以看到旗海飄揚的雪山獅子旗，並搭配渾厚有力的吶喊，將藏人心中回家的願望大聲呼喊出來。

從1959年3月10日，首都拉薩發起萬人示威，並掀起全國性抗暴行動，卻慘遭中國血腥鎮壓，今年3月10日即將邁入第58周年，而台灣也已經是第14次舉辦310紀念活動。除了許多在台的藏人、以及台灣的聲援民眾，也有數位立委到場支持。希望藉由一年一度的遊行以及各種形式的宣傳，激發民眾對於西藏(圖博)議題的關心與支持。
