When counseling meets movies – caring for society through the lens
Modern society is jam-packed with countless sources of pressure, from schoolwork and interpersonal relationships to work and financial constraints. This modern phenomenon has given rise to a trend towards depression in society, triggering an exponential increase in the need for counseling psychologists. Though generally listeners in society, one counseling psychologist in Hualien is transforming his on-job experiences into stories through the lens.
Counseling psychology and film production seem to be two unrelated disciplines running parallel to one another, but Zhang Zhi-hong (張志宏) has found a point of intersection. Through his counseling work, Zhang keeps his finger on the pulse of society and shares new insights through his film works. His work is opening up new horizons in the integration of film and counseling.
