Our Cultural Heritage - Huanan Village
In the alleys of Huanan Village in Muzha, the red brick garden gates and green trees set each other off, evoking a strong sense of bygone days. Huanan Village was built in the 1960s as housing for academic staff at Chengchi University. Today, it is a rare example of a cultural village in the heart of the city. Thanks to the efforts of Vision Project Team and local residents, a series of research projects and community tours were carried out, and in February of this year, Taipei City Department of Cultural Affairs officially designated the group of buildings making up Huanan Village as a historic landmark.
The preservation status of Huanan Village not only protects the buildings but also over half a century of stories. Hopefully, through uniting the assistance of diverse public sector departments, distinguished individuals and cultural assets at National Chengchi University, and the sentiments of locals, the intriguing story of Huanan Village will be shared far and wide with the people of this land.
