The youth protest in the face of 2020 heatwave

Taiwan Youth Climate Coalition held the "Youth Climate Action Protest" in front of the Legislative Yuan on September 27, where participants put on goggles to simulate the crisis of rising sea levels caused by global warming. Everyone took to the streets in the hope of convincing the government to take heed and hear the voice of people on the front line of fighting climate change.

This summer, Taipei set a new all-time high of 39.7 degrees Celsius. According to data from Greenpeace in August, Taiwan's sea level is rising at about twice the average worldwide rate and will continue to rise.  In response, Taiwan Youth Climate Coalition has launched protests in a bid to influence government policy and raise public awareness about climate issues. With climate change affecting the planet's resources and ecology and being closely related to everyone's life, it makes sense to fight for change and create a better-quality environment for all.

2020熱浪來襲 青年遊行抗暖不缺席

台灣青年氣候聯盟9月27日在立法院前舉辦「青年抗暖大遊行」。參與者全都戴上蛙鏡，模擬全球暖化導致海平面上升的危機，大家走上街頭，期盼政府能聽見抗暖的聲音。

今年夏天，台北創下39.7度高溫，打破歷史紀錄；據「綠色和平組織」8月資料顯示，台灣的海平面上升速度約全球二倍，並且會持續升高。氣候不只影響資源和生態，更和每個人的生活息息相關。台灣青年發起行動，嘗試透過遊行與政策溝通對話，也盼民眾更加關注氣候議題，為更好的環境品質盡一份心力。
