Aogu Wetlands and Forest Park in Chiayi has a diverse ecological environment. According to statistics, more than 200 bird species choose to stay here every year. When migratory birds come to Taiwan in winter, it becomes a sacred place for many bird-watching enthusiasts. Dongshi Natural Ecological Exhibition Center has an exhibition combining local characteristics with woodcarving skills, helping the public get to know wild birds more closely.

There are currently two wild bird woodcarving masters in Taiwan, Lee Yi-rong and Huang Lin-ming. Initially, they were passionate bird-watching enthusiasts, but after years of experience, they developed skills to record the appearance of wild birds in other ways. Over the years, ecological conservation has evolved in many diverse ways. Cross-disciplinary collaboration between art and other fields assists conservation work and helps close the gap between man and nature.
