美國國慶在華府熱鬧展開，台灣僑界今年是以世界第一高的台北一零一大樓模型以及原住民的傳統服裝造型，作為花車遊行主題，吸引不少國際媒體的焦點。僑界人士說，他們要讓國際知道，現在至少有一個世界第一，是抓在台灣的手上。請看駐美特派員，蔣靜怡來自華府的報導。
為了慶祝山姆叔叔過生日，來自多元民族的各遊行隊伍無不使出渾身解數，像這群來自波利維亞的美國後裔，舞出民族的熱情奔放，不過也有表演團體在美國的國慶中，表達了沈重的民族情感。
踏上了華府憲法大道，把台灣耳熟能詳的政黨競選歌曲融合了原住民舞蹈表演，儘管有些悲情，倒是吸引不少國際媒體以及當地美國民眾的好奇。這群由台美人協會等團體組成遊行隊伍。儘管少了花俏瘋狂，不過遊行的道具，可是世界第一。
這座台北一零一模型，加上美女如雲的原住民姑娘的構想，是今年台灣隊伍的展示主題，不過遊行單位也說，原本以為101模型很高，後來到我駐紐約經文處借出來一看，才發現模型比例有點小，不過宣達台灣的聲音，總是有了。

TAIWAN IS NOT
THE "REPUBLIC OF CHINA”
Not only you, but many other Taiwanese people have all missed the point.
You continually think that you are supporting "Taiwan," but in fact you are supporting the ROC government in exile.
By supporting the DPP and A-bien as the Republic of China, by using the ROC name, constitution, currency, post office stamps, and even your new ID that is designated as "Taiwan Province, ROC", etc. etc, you are supporting the outlaw regime of the ROC.
The magic of politics is to confuse the Taiwanese people to support the current group of politicians, but after the election, you will soon find that your "dream" of Taiwanese self-actualization is still the dream for the (distant) future.
After the election, very few positive efforts will be carried out for the Taiwanese people to obtain true "self-identity," just as we have seen so many times in the past.
We as the grassroots must keep pushing, and must recognize the reality of the current situation.
There are several ways open to the Taiwanese people for the resolution of our current problems, but the politicians continue to trick us, and they urge us to follow them along the path of upholding the "legitimacy" of ROC jurisdiction over Taiwan. Internationally speaking, that is a dead-end road.
The ROC should be thrown into the "dustbin" of history. Unfortunately, we still have a long way to go in order for all Taiwanese people to realize that our current problems are not caused by the PRC, our problems are caused by the ROC.
Thankfully, we have attained a certain level of democratic development over the past few decades. However, we desperately need more "democratic education" in Taiwan, and in Taiwanese communities overseas.
THE BIG LIE
The announcement of "Taiwan Retrocession Day" on October 25, 1945, is the BIG LIE upon which all other lies of the ROC regime are based.
* The statement that Taiwan is already an independent with sovereign state is a lie. In fact, the PRC already succeeded the ROC as of late 1949.
* The statement that Taiwan is the territory of ROC is a lie.
* The statment that the Taiwanese peoples are the subjects (citizens) of the ROC is also a lie.
* Everything under ROC is a lie, because the ROC is not the legitimate government of Taiwan.
If we cannot get rid of the ROC, we cannot break the spell (or “curse") of the continuing threat of Chinese military attacks.
It is very clear that the ROC cannot protect the Taiwanese people, so why should we be supportive of all the statements the ROC government officials make???
