Located in Houlong town, Miaoli county, Tung Kuang elementary school was called 公司 cottage public school during the period of Japanese occupation, since the residents usually stored their fishing equipment nearby the fishing port. The school was established in 1918, and rebuilt in 2011.
With the decreasing birth rate, the number of student rapidly declined in sixty years. Nevertheless, students enjoy more resources during learning. There are many classrooms with multiple function facilities.
Despite the influence of the urban-rural gap, students enjoy their learning time in such a historical and cultural campus. They have more chances than others to explore their sights by abundant of educational resources and natural environment.
