Taiwan International Balloon Festival reveals Taitung from the air

The 2019 Taiwan International Balloon Festival opened at the start of June. The 45-day hot air balloon festival attracted nearly one million tourists to Luyeh Township in Taitung. The main promoters behind the event are Taiwan’s hot air balloon pilots, who do a far more demanding job than most people imagine. Through their passion for hot air ballooning, these pilots help people safely witness the beauty of Taiwan from the air.

Despite the popularity of hot air ballooning abroad, it was 2011 before Taiwan International Balloon Festival was established in Taiwan and began attracting hot air balloon lovers from near and far. The sense of oneness with nature that drifting along in a hot air balloon provides is a truly unique experience.
